Overview

The Sr. Director of Directed Energy Systems Strategy leads strategic initiatives across customer engagement, strategic planning, proposal development, and program execution to advance nLIGHT’s mission and competitive positioning.

• Lead strategic initiatives across customer engagement and program execution.

• Support international business development by building customer relationships.
• Ensure technical excellence throughout program lifecycles.
• Act as principal liaison with government customers.
• Identify emerging opportunities for innovation and growth.
• Provide ongoing technical and programmatic guidance.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in DoD programs and government contracting.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Sciences, or related field required; PhD preferred.
• Experience with directed energy systems development.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and self-motivated skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Insatiable appetite to learn and adapt.
• Possess or qualify for a U.S. DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
