Sr. Manager, Global Trade Compliance - Remote

Overview

nLIGHT is looking for a Global Trade Compliance Manager, reporting to nLIGHT’s General Counsel. The Global Trade Compliance Manager will be responsible for and oversee the daily operations and strategic development of the global trade compliance function.

In Short

• Develop global trade compliance roadmap and strategy for the company.
• Be thoroughly familiar with the trade compliance related laws, rules, and regulations applicable in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
• Identify risks and implement processes to minimize compliance risk to the company.
• Evaluate the risk and feasibility of import/export compliance for new capabilities and product lines.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and regulatory constraints.
• Work closely with the company’s sales, shipping, logistics, and external customers.
• Foster communication and build relationships across the company's functions, vendors, and regulators.
• Conduct internal audits and provide feedback to improve compliance.
• Perform commodity jurisdiction and classification.
• Assist and/or perform in any and all areas as assigned.

Requirements

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience.
• Customs Brokerage License strongly preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of international trade regulations and practices.
• Significant understanding of US Customs regulations.
• Proven experience in directing and strengthening global trade compliance processes.
• Ability to analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes.
• Technical expertise in the semiconductor industry preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% travel time.

• Global Trade Compliance Manager: $90,000 - $120,000 annually.
