Software Development Engineer - Remote

Overview

NexGen Data Systems is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Software Developer/Engineer to join our team. As a successful Software Developer/Engineer, you must be motivated and work well with minimal supervision. You must have the ability for both designing and coding projects – from the detailed coding to the broader, overall representation of customer-driven products/capabilities. This position is a fully remote position.

In Short

• Analyze end-user needs and design, test, and develop software to satisfy demand.
• Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional system requirements.
• Design user interfaces using conceptual design techniques.
• Engage in test-driven development with technologies like JSON, React, and Spring Boot.
• Participate in pair programming within the Extreme Programming framework.
• Manage container pipelines within Tanzu.
• Lead software implementation teams for complex systems.
• Translate software architecture into low-level designs and implementation strategies.
• Collaborate on software systems implementation.
• Work in a DOD and Agile Development environment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Software Development or 6+ years with a BS degree in relevant fields.
• Secret Clearance or Higher.
• Database experience with MySQL 5.7.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines – Git, Tanzu.
• Familiarity with JIRA and documentation tools like Atlassian Confluence.
• Understanding of cloud architecture.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a self-motivated attitude.
• Ability to handle competing priorities in a team-oriented environment.
