Software Development Engineer - Remote

Overview

NexGen Data Systems is seeking a dynamic and motivated Software Development Engineer to join our team. As a successful Software Development Engineer, you must be motivated and work well with minimal supervision. You must have the ability for both designing and coding projects – from the detailed coding to the broader, overall representation of customer driven products/capabilities.

In Short

• Analyze end-user needs and design, test, and develop software to satisfy demand.
• Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional system requirements.
• Design user interfaces using conceptual design techniques.
• Lead the software implementation of complex systems.
• Translate software architecture and requirements into low-level designs.
• Select programming languages and tools appropriate for software architecture.
• Lead teams responsible for implementing software systems.

Requirements

• Active Secret level Department of Defense security clearance required.
• Six years’ experience with a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields or ten years without a degree.
• Experience with test-driven development, JSON, React, Spring Boot Java, Junit.
• Database experience with MySQL 5.7.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Git and Tanzu.
• Understanding of cloud architecture and Agile Development environments.
• Familiarity with JIRA and documentation using Atlassian Confluence.
