Software Development Engineer - Remote

Overview

NGDS is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Software Developer/Engineer to join our team. As a successful Software Developer/Engineer, you must be motivated and work well with minimal supervision. You must have the ability for both designing and coding projects – from the detailed coding to the broader, overall representation of customer driven products/capabilities. As a Software Developer/Engineer for NexGen Data Systems, you will be inventing new features and products, adding new features to existing DOD applications, and enhancing existing products using advanced computer programming languages/frameworks include Java and Spring Boot.

• Analyze end-user needs and design, test, and develop software to satisfy demand
• Analyze, and translate business requirements in functional and non-functional system requirements
• Design user interfaces using conceptual design techniques
• Lead the software implementation of complex systems
• Translate software architecture and requirements into low-level designs
• Select programming languages, frameworks, and tools for implementation
• Lead teams responsible for implementing software systems

Requirements

• 10 years+ experience without a degree or 6+ years with a BS degree in relevant fields
• Secret clearance or higher preferred
• 8140 compliance (Active Security and OS certifications)
• Experience with Test-driven development and various technologies
• Database experience with MySQL 5.7
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile Development environments
• Understanding of cloud architecture and network infrastructure
