Staff Data Pipeline Engineer - Remote

Overview

This role is a unique opportunity to make a foundational impact as the first dedicated pipeline engineer embedded within our engineering organization. You’ll work across our entire data ecosystem, helping to establish best practices while building and refactoring alongside a small team.

In Short

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance data pipelines.
• Implement and maintain real-time streaming pipelines using Kafka.
• Refactor legacy data systems for improved performance and reliability.
• Build robust observability and alerting systems.
• Contribute to systems engineering efforts emphasizing observability.
• Partner with various teams for reliable data modeling and reporting.
• Drive architectural decisions and evaluate tooling for efficiency.
• Mentor engineers on data pipeline best practices.
• Document architecture and operational processes.
• Identify and implement internal process improvements.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with real-time data processing systems.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka clusters and streaming data pipelines.
• Deep expertise in event streaming architectures.
• Strong proficiency with Snowflake and ClickHouse.
• Experience across multi-cloud environments (GCP and AWS preferred).
• Proficiency in SQL and programming languages Go, Python, or Java.
• Familiarity with observability tools.
• Experience with source/version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to write production code.
• Excellent communication skills.
