Overview

This role exists to drive growth and optimize revenue from NerdWallet’s SMB lending partnerships. The Business Development Lead will manage our SMB lending partnerships, identify and execute on growth opportunities, and collaborate across internal teams to unlock value through scalable, data-driven initiatives.

In Short

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of high-revenue SMB lending partnerships.
  • Be the primary point of contact for new partnerships and manage their onboarding experience.
  • Monitor and analyze partner performance, preparing reports for business reviews.
  • Identify partnership growth opportunities and lead negotiations with partners.
  • Ensure collaboration across Product, Sales, and Engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 6–7+ years in business development or partnerships, with experience in SMB lending.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience managing large partnerships with significant revenue impact.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, tailored to different audiences.
  • Proficient in Excel and skilled in creating data-informed presentations.
  • Ability to use data to influence decision-making.
  • Experience collaborating with legal teams on partner contracts.
  • Comfortable in dynamic, high-growth environments.
