Certified Coding Specialist I - Remote

Overview

As a Certified Coding Specialist, you will analyze medical records and abstract clinical data by assigning codes from patient records in accordance with coding classification systems. You will also interact with physicians when code assignments are not straightforward or documentation in the record is inadequate, ambiguous or unclear for coding purposes.

Requirements

• AAPC or AHIMA Certification required.
• Minimum 1-year medical coding experience.
• Thorough knowledge of ICD10 coding guidelines.
• Knowledge of CPT coding and modifier usage.
• Understanding of CMS LCD/NCD and payer policies.
• Familiarity with anatomy and physiology.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
