  • Perform CPT and ICD9 coding through medical record abstraction.
  • Train staff on documentation, billing, and coding.
  • Abstract and code physician professional services and diagnoses.
  • Ensure accurate charge capture and perform reconciliations.
  • Provide feedback to physicians regarding documentation.
  • Maintain coding reference materials and guidelines.
  • Assist in resolving billing issues and maintaining logs of non-compliance.
  • Draft letters and coordinate appeals as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with Revenue Cycle staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CCS certification required.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Health Information Management preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and challenging situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database entry.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Adaptability to changes in the work environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills for decision-making.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
