Site Reliability Engineer - Remote

Overview

NBCUniversal has an opening for a Site Reliability Engineer focused primarily on supporting live channel distribution on the Video Streaming Engineering team within the NBCU Operations and Technology division. This position will be part of a dedicated 24x7 team tasked with supporting and maintaining distribution systems including diagnosing and preventing on-air issues before they arise.

In Short

• Investigate issues within broadcast systems.
• Drive and own investigations related to Broadcast issues.
• Create comprehensive documentation of encountered issues.
• Assist in deployment and testing of patches or fixes.
• Support and participate in On-air systems integration.
• Provide 24x7 On-Air systems support.
• Attend daily maintenance and operations review calls.
• Work in a high traffic environment.
• Utilize cloud hosting environments like AWS.
• Collaborate with team members and vendors.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering/Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of DevOps/SRE experience.
• Experience with deployment automation in AWS.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration services.
• 3-5 years of Linux System Administration.
• Experience coding in Go, Python, Ruby, Java, or shell languages.
• Professional experience using log/metric aggregation software.
• Comfort with continuous delivery of code to production.
• Knowledge of the OSI model and troubleshooting networking issues.
• Willingness to prioritize business needs.
