Senior Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

Mixbook is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Engineering & Platform team. You will collaborate closely with fellow senior engineers to design, implement, and deploy innovative systems that scale with our growing business and technical needs.

In Short

• Work closely with product owners to design, implement, and deploy systems.
• Scale our product using modern technologies such as Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, AWS, and Redshift.
• Contribute to system design, architecture, and code reviews.
• Spend 75% of your time coding, with the rest dedicated to team collaboration.
• Foster strong collaboration within a cross-functional team.
• Engage in team development initiatives and training sessions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of web development experience with expertise in back-end programming languages.
• Experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails is a strong plus.
• Strong SQL skills and database design experience.
• Experience with data tools such as Mixpanel, Segment, GA4, or Optimizely.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS.
• Knowledge of writing automated tests.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Opinions on code architecture and building developer-friendly APIs.
• General knowledge of front-end programming languages.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Intermediate English speaking skills, level B2 or greater.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
