Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Customer Experience application development team and contribute to the next step function growth phase. As a member of the engineering team, you will have the opportunity to design and build systems and features from the ground-up, have a big role to play in defining the direction of our product and mentor other engineers.

In Short

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services for the Metropolis parking platform.
• Participate in the entire development lifecycle, including ideation and requirements identification.
• Moderate technical discussions and evaluate new techniques.
• Leverage best practices in automation testing and deployment.
• Build a culture where bugs are treated as opportunities to improve.
• Ensure systems are highly available and scalable.
• Work with partners to integrate their products with the Metropolis platform.

Requirements

• MS or BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience with Scala, Java, or related languages.
• Experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems.
• Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Understanding of Agile processes, including TDD/BDD and CI/CD.
• Experience with MySQL and Postgres.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Local to Santa Monica, New York City, or Seattle areas.
