Ground Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

Maxar Space is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Space Software group in Palo Alto, CA. This position can also be performed remotely within the U.S. You will be part of the Ground Software team responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining telemetry and commanding products.

• Develop, deploy, and maintain telemetry and commanding products.
• Support manufacturing teams, mission operations, and customers for satellite programs.
• Develop, test, and operate full-stack software for spacecraft commanding.
• Design and engineer innovative solutions to meet user needs.
• Introduce automation and new tools in a collaborative environment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of professional software development experience required.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines preferred.
• Passion for learning and teaching new technical skills.

Requirements

• Programming experience with C++, Java, and Python.
• Familiarity with command and telemetry processing.
• Strong Linux background (Fedora/RHEL/Rocky).
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks like JUnit and PyTest.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards (NIST 800-53, -171).
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Highly focused self-starter.
• Professional written communications skills.
