HELOC Specialist - Remote

Overview

The HELOC Specialist is responsible for providing information on credit union portfolio HELOC products and services, evaluating loan applications, and ensuring compliance with regulations while promoting credit union products.

In Short

• Interview mortgage loan applicants and assist them with applications.
• Analyze financial information to support loan decisions.
• Evaluate borrower character, collateral, capacity to repay, and credit position.
• Calculate debt-to-income ratios and payment plans.
• Promote credit union services and develop lending business.
• Prepare loan documentation for underwriting and processing.
• Provide exceptional member service and timely feedback.
• Manage loan closing processes with customers.
• Consult members on financial planning and credit management.
• Work with other departments to ensure best practices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma; College Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or Finance desired.
• Experience in mortgage/consumer lending, banking, or sales.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build rapport and communicate persuasively.
• Knowledge of the mortgage loan application process.
• Proficiency in MS Office and loan application software.
• Experience in customer service and business development.
