Group Director of Product Accounting - Remote

Overview

The Group Director of Product Accounting oversees three Product Controllers and their support staff across M&T’s major business lines, ensuring accurate financial and regulatory accounting and reporting.

In Short

• Lead a team of Product Controllers for major business lines.
• Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory standards.
• Interact with Segment CFOs and Executive Management.
• Drive business strategy and outcomes.
• Develop strategic direction for the organization.
• Manage day-to-day operations and initiatives.
• Coach and develop senior managers.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies in accordance with GAAP.
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Promote a culture of transparency and accountability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 13 years of experience or equivalent.
• 4 years of managerial experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• In-depth knowledge of the banking industry.
• Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Experience in financial reporting and technical accounting.
• CPA/CFA certifications are a plus.
• Experience with FASB/SEC regulations.
