Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer - Analytics at MagicSchool, you will develop and maintain our core data warehouse, ensuring a scalable and reliable foundation for analytics and AI evaluation.

In Short

• Own the development and maintenance of the core data warehouse on Google BigQuery.
• Design efficient data pipelines and models for analytics and AI evaluation.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Implement robust analytics data models and ensure data quality.
• Optimize data warehouse performance and cost.
• Collaborate with data scientists and product managers on data needs.
• Document data models and pipelines; maintain a data dictionary.
• Scope and sequence large data initiatives into tasks.

Requirements

• Expert-level SQL proficiency.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Deep understanding of data warehousing principles.
• Experience with cloud-based data warehouses, ideally BigQuery.
• Experience building and scaling data transformation pipelines.

• Experience with Python for data engineering.
• Experience with DBT or similar tools is a plus.
