Billing Analyst - Remote

Overview

The Billing Analyst is a critical role within our Finance and Accounting team, responsible for managing the billing process and ensuring the integrity of our revenue data. You will be a key player in the order-to-cash cycle, directly impacting our cash flow and the speed of our month-end close. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detailed, proactive, and passionate about process improvement, with a keen interest in how systems and automation can enhance financial operations.

In Short

• Generate and distribute accurate and timely customer invoices.
• Review and validate all billing data with Sales and Customer Success teams.
• Maintain precise customer and contract records in Stripe and NetSuite.
• Prepare billing/revenue-related journal entries for month-end close.
• Support customer billing inquiries and provide timely resolutions.
• Lead accounts receivable collections and monitor aging reports.
• Ensure proper sales tax application on invoices.
• Identify opportunities to automate the billing process.
• Collaborate with finance team for tax compliance.
• Work independently in a fast startup environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in billing or accounts receivable.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Stripe and Salesforce preferred.
• Direct experience in a SaaS or recurring revenue business model.
• Familiarity with sales tax software like Avalara.
