National Senior Attorney - Remote

Overview

KIND seeks a National Senior Attorney to provide senior-level expertise and leadership in the provision of legal services by KIND attorneys and pro bono partners to unaccompanied children facing removal proceedings.

In Short

• Provides mentoring to KIND pro bono attorneys and direct legal representation to KIND clients.
• Supervises staff attorneys and legal staff.
• Engages in outreach to foster relationships with community stakeholders.
• Oversees data management and ensures data integrity.
• Develops local training curriculum and conducts trainings.
• Collaborates with other departments on projects and initiatives.
• Represents KIND at local meetings and events.
• Participates in and leads KIND meetings and events.
• Provides leadership in developing KIND’s legal services program.
• Acts as an expert advisor on complex legal issues.

Requirements

• J.D. and admitted to local state bar.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing immigration law.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children.
• Experience working with law firm attorneys and legal volunteers.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising attorneys.
• Strong record of cultural competence.
• Demonstrated communication skills.
• Advanced fluency in Spanish language required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational skills.
