Sr. Technical Writer (Remote - Part-Time)

Overview

The Sr. Technical Writer will create, update, and maintain technical documentation for complex systems and products, ensuring clarity for both technical and non-technical audiences.

In Short

• Author and update Electronic Technical Manuals (ETMs) and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs).
• Interpret Statements of Work (SOW) and System Requirement Documents (SRD).
• Plan and maintain computer-based or web-based training modules.
• Edit technical materials for clarity and conformity to standards.
• Participate in Technical Manual In-Process Reviews (IPRs).
• Record and maintain technical corrective actions.
• Update User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) content.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on documentation.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen with eligibility to work in the United States.
• Active Government security clearance at Secret level or higher.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Journalism, English, or related field, with 8+ years of experience.
• Proficiency with Arbortext, XML, SGML, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• In-depth knowledge of various military standards and regulations.
• Strong technical writing and editing skills.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
