Data Center Operating Engineer (Night Shift) - Remote

Overview

The Data Center Operating Engineer will assist in the operations of critical facilities, ensuring the maintenance and functionality of mechanical and electrical systems.

In Short

• Work Night Shift: 7pm - 7am on a 4/3 rotating schedule.
• Assist Chief Engineer in critical facility operations.
• Supervise maintenance personnel and oversee preventative maintenance programs.
• Ensure compliance with safety practices and maintain a clean workspace.
• Monitor and maintain building systems including HVAC, electrical, and emergency backup systems.
• Perform diagnostics and corrective actions on malfunctioning equipment.
• Record keeping of engineering logs and maintenance activities.
• Lead and manage the engineering team effectively.
• Coordinate with contractors and oversee maintenance contract work.
• Ensure 100% uptime of building engineering systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Several years of construction or building engineering experience preferred.
• Ability to diagnose problems and make sound decisions.
• Experience with hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Physically able to operate electric hand tools and lift up to 70 pounds.
• Proficient in computer skills including email, Word, and Excel.
• Exposure to a CMMS system is a plus.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and on roofs.
• Strong safety record and compliance with safe work practices.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
