Overview

The Benefits Specialist provides hands-on administration and frontline employee support for the company’s health, welfare, and retirement benefit programs.

In Short

  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries.
  • Manage daily operations of health and welfare benefits.
  • Support annual open enrollment execution.
  • Ensure employee 401(k) elections are accurately reflected in the payroll system.
  • Conduct monthly carrier billing reconciliations.
  • Partner with carriers to resolve employee issues.
  • Collaborate with HR Managers on leave of absence management.
  • Support wellness programs and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with compliance requirements related to benefits.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.

Requirements

  • Highly detail-oriented and customer-service driven.
  • Experience in benefits administration.
  • Strong follow-through and discretion.
  • Ability to manage recurring operational processes.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience with HRIS and benefits platforms.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations (COBRA, ACA, ERISA).
  • Experience in vendor coordination.
  • Ability to work directly with employees and vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
