Simulation Engineer Intern – 1D/3D CFD Simulation Team - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a Simulation Engineer Intern to join our 1D/3D CFD Simulation Team for a minimum of 3 months. In this role, you will support the development of simulation models for core engine systems and components of Jenbacher and Waukesha high-performance industrial reciprocating gas engines.

• Support the development of gas engine 1D cooling and lubrication system simulation models.
• Assist in ensuring the technical quality of simulation models.
• Collaborate with design, analysis, and testing teams.
• Contribute to innovative solutions for new product development.
• Participate in root cause analysis cases.
• Interact with stakeholders across various teams.
• Help outline validation campaigns for simulation model quality.
• Propose design improvements on component and system levels.
• Prepare and present technical reports to stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel on international business trips.

Requirements

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
• Excellent communication in English; German is an advantage.
• Good communication skills and proactive approach.
• Understanding of physics and controls of fluid flow systems.
• Knowledge of reciprocating engines is a plus.
• Experience with GT Power or equivalent software is an advantage.
• Programming experience with Python, C, Matlab and/or Modelica.
• CAD software experience is an advantage.
• CFD software experience is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel on international business trips.
