Cache Database Administrator - Remote

Overview

The Cache Database Administrator will provide support for incident and request intake, documentation, and resolution; problem analysis; and project task fulfillment for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

• Fully remote position.
• Support incident and request intake, documentation, and resolution.
• Perform database maintenance, backup management, and performance management.
• Design, tune, and implement database solutions.
• Assess database management systems and perform troubleshooting.
• Build positive working relationships with team members and customers.
• Prioritize and respond to customer needs based on severity levels.
• Participate in on-call rotation for off-hour support.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain VA Public Trust.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills required.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or 10+ years of experience.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in database administration.
• Experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and Cache/Mumps.
• Practical knowledge of Server OS management in Windows and Unix.
• Experience with 508 compliance.
• Ability to support customers during EST hours.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a remote environment.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
