Overview

We’re looking for a highly skilled Database Administrator to design, optimize, and manage our database systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in PostgreSQL and a passion for performance tuning and scalability.

In Short

  • Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases ensuring high availability, reliability, and security.
  • Perform query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning to enhance database efficiency.
  • Manage database monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work with AWS RDS for database deployment, maintenance, and automation.
  • Utilize AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for database migration and replication.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement best practices for data modeling, schema design, and ETL processes.
  • (Nice to have) Work with AWS data services such as Kinesis, EventBridge, Athena, Glue, and Firehose to support data processing and analytics.
  • Develop and maintain backup strategies and disaster recovery plans for mission-critical systems.
  • Ensure database security, compliance, and governance following industry standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, including advanced query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of indexing strategies, query execution plans, and database internals.
  • Experience managing AWS RDS for PostgreSQL in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS DMS for data migration and replication.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation.
  • Strong experience with database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize database performance under real-world constraints.
