Regional Midwifery Consultant - Remote

Overview

The Regional Midwifery Consultant will provide strategic guidance and support midwifery development efforts across the Arab region, addressing challenges in midwifery care and education.

In Short

• Provide final review of midwifery policy briefs in English, French, and Arabic.
• Design and facilitate webinars to disseminate survey findings.
• Guide and oversee the Arab Regional Midwifery Advisory Group (ARMAG).
• Support leadership development and capacity building for midwifery leaders.
• Provide technical assistance to UNFPA Country Offices in the region.
• Work remotely with potential travel for regional meetings.
• Contribute to the ICM Triennial Conference preparations.
• Document engagement plans for ARMAG and technical assistance provided.
• Ensure alignment with UNFPA's strategic goals for maternal health.
• Promote gender equality and diversity in midwifery.

Requirements

• Advanced University degree in social and health sciences, education, or midwifery.
• 20 years of experience in midwifery and related fields.
• Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
• Fluency in Arabic, French, and English.
• Ability to work remotely and travel as needed.
• Experience in strategic planning and policy development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to gender equality and diversity.
• Experience with technical assistance in healthcare settings.
• Understanding of regional healthcare challenges.
