Overview

The UN Secretary-General established the UN SDG Action Campaign to inspire people and organizations from all backgrounds and every part of the world to take actions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The UN SDG Action Campaign is hosted and supported by UNDP and is based in Bonn (Germany) with a lean team that marshals rapid support for new initiatives as opportunities arise and provides partners with on-demand strategic creative services that inspire SDG action.

In Short

• Support knowledge generation on SDG local action.
• Conduct research to identify cities and local governments contributing to the SDGs.
• Assist with communication tasks, including writing press releases and social media posts.
• Provide new ideas to engage local governments in knowledge initiatives.
• Identify data for infographics on SDG implementation by local governments.
• Generate news and stories for the project website.
• Elaborate project newsletters and increase the database of contacts.
• Support UNDP activities during the High Level Political Forum 2025.
• Support the delegation of local and regional governments to the HLPF.
• Contribute to the 8th Local and Regional Governments Forum.

Requirements

• Major in international relations, social sciences, journalism, communications, or marketing.
• Enrolled in a Master's or PhD programme, or final year of Bachelor's.
• Good oral and written communication ability in English.
• Experience in media events or social media campaigns.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online collaborative tools.
• Skills in graphic design and photo editing are an asset.
• Interest in local and regional government initiatives.
• Ability to use design tools like Canva.
