Overview

The Underwriting Team Lead at Honeycomb will play a pivotal role in modernizing the underwriting process by integrating cutting-edge technology and AI to assess risk and manage a book of business effectively.

In Short

• Lead and mentor a team of 3-5 underwriters.
• Utilize data and AI for risk assessment and underwriting.
• Conduct training sessions and develop educational materials.
• Ensure compliance with state insurance regulations.
• Analyze and approve policy changes.
• Support marketing and HR initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with team members and partners.
• Monitor team performance through audits and reports.
• Participate in special projects as needed.
• Occasional travel required (less than 25%).

Requirements

• 5+ years of underwriting/insurance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Preferred retail agency relationship.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for knowledge sharing and development.
• Ability to manage and mentor junior staff.
• Must reside in California.
