Overview

The Field Service Engineer at Hitachi Energy will provide service and support for FACTS and HVDC systems, ensuring reliable and efficient operations for customers in utility and industrial markets.

In Short

• Primary responsibility for emergency support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of FACTS and HVDC systems.
• Involvement in installation, commissioning, and upgrades of stations.
• Hands-on training provided upon hiring.
• Travel up to 80% of the time for site activities across North America and abroad.
• Serve as the first point of contact for customer support.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to less experienced personnel.
• Responsible for health and safety compliance during work activities.
• Support sales efforts during customer site visits.
• Fluent in English and French.
• 3 years of relevant experience in substations and electrification projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety measures and regulations.
• Hands-on knowledge of substation products and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Strong communication skills in English and French.
• Experience in customer support and training.
