Overview

The Patient Access Coordinator I is responsible for scheduling, pre-registration, financial clearance, and ensuring a positive patient experience at AHN Jefferson Hospital.

In Short

  • Conducts scheduling and pre-registration functions.
  • Validates patient demographic data and verifies medical benefits.
  • Calculates patient financial responsibilities and collects payments.
  • Delivers positive patient experience and maintains relationships with stakeholders.
  • Adheres to organizational policies and completes mandatory training.
  • Handles insurance verification and authorization requirements.
  • Performs data entry and ensures accurate bill submissions.
  • Escalates complex liability calculations to Financial Counselors.
  • Recommends improvements for performance and productivity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School/GED.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient in operating PC and using software applications.
  • Preferred Associate's Degree.
  • 1 year of call center experience in healthcare revenue cycle.
