The Patient Access Coordinator I plays a crucial role in creating the first impression of AHN's services to patients and families by managing scheduling, pre-registration, and financial responsibilities while ensuring a positive patient experience.

In Short

  • Completes scheduling and pre-registration functions.
  • Validates patient demographic data and verifies medical benefits.
  • Obtains clinical data based on service requirements.
  • Verifies insurance information and identifies authorization requirements.
  • Calculates patient financial responsibilities and collects payments.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with patients and staff.
  • Adheres to organizational policies and completes mandatory training.
  • Delivers a positive patient experience.
  • Recommends innovative approaches for performance enhancement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 months of related experience or training.
  • One year of related experience in a medical or customer service setting preferred.
  • Experience operating a PC and using software applications.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verifications.
  • Call/service center experience preferred.
