Overview

The Patient Access Coordinator I is responsible for various patient access processes including scheduling, pre-registration, and financial clearance, while ensuring a positive experience for patients and families.

In Short

  • Completes scheduling and pre-registration functions.
  • Verifies patient demographic data and insurance information.
  • Calculates patient financial responsibilities and collects payments.
  • Delivers positive experiences to patients and families.
  • Maintains productive relationships with healthcare staff and external agencies.
  • Adheres to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participates in mandatory training and education sessions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 months of related experience or training preferred.
  • Experience in a medical or financial services setting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verifications.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in using PC and software applications.
