Overview

The Orthopedics Technician I provides medical and clerical support to physicians in various orthopedic practice locations, ensuring quality patient care and documentation.

In Short

• Assists physicians with medical procedures and patient care.
• Performs wound care, EKGs, and sutures/staples removal.
• Applies and removes orthopedic casts and splints.
• Documents patient health information in electronic records.
• Educates patients on care procedures.
• Ensures exam rooms are prepared and stocked with supplies.
• Travels to various locations to support physicians.
• Maintains patient treatment areas and inventory standards.
• Functions as a scribe when necessary.
• Follows compliance and ethical standards in patient care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certification or Athletic Trainer Licensure required within 120 days of hire.
• 3-5 years’ experience as an Ortho Technician, Medical Assistant, or Athletic Trainer preferred.
• CPR Certification required.
• Background clearances (Act 34, Act 33, Act 73) required.
• Ability to travel to various locations.
