Overview

The MRI Technologist performs prescribed MRI imaging procedures at a technical level, ensuring high-quality imaging results while providing patient care and education.

In Short

  • Positions patients and performs MRI imaging procedures.
  • Analyzes imaging results and resolves quality issues.
  • Educates patients about procedures and equipment.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media as needed.
  • Monitors patient condition during procedures.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots MRI equipment.
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards and quality control.
  • Documents and reports scan results accurately.
  • Collaborates with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in Radiography or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • MRI Certification required within 24 months of hire.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Act 34, 33, and 73 clearances required.
  • Prior experience as an MRI Technologist preferred.
