Overview

The Senior Staff Attorney and Staff Attorney role is an in-house position that will handle a designated caseload of Workers’ Compensation cases with a focus on providing excellent customer service and legal representation.

In Short

  • Handle a designated caseload of Workers’ Compensation cases.
  • Appear before California Workers' Compensation Boards.
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues.
  • Create and present defense strategies on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare pleadings, written discovery, and motions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and court personnel.
  • Prepare and present witnesses at trials and hearings.
  • Provide in-house training to junior associates.
  • Participate in continuing legal education seminars.
  • Flexible work arrangements with some travel required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of legal practice experience.
  • JD from accredited law school.
  • License to practice in California.
  • Trial experience preferred.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Self-directed with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to leverage new software quickly.
  • Collaborative team-player attitude.
  • Lexis Nexis experience is a plus.
