The Payroll Delivery Engineering People Engineering (PE) leader plays a pivotal role in advancing Gusto’s mission — ensuring every employee is paid accurately, on time, and in full compliance with thousands of regulations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 4+ years of experience as an Engineering PE.
• Experience with high-volume transactional systems.
• Deep experience designing APIs and distributed systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to build and sustain high-performing teams.
• Experience in modernizing legacy systems and automation.
• Strategic systems thinker with a focus on operational excellence.
