Regulatory Counsel, Regulatory Compliance - Remote

Overview

The Regulatory Counsel, Regulatory Compliance will support and work cross-functionally with various teams to ensure adherence to all laws related to retail, CPG, and advertising/marketing issues across all of GTI’s markets.

In Short

• Independently review and analyze state, local, and federal laws affecting the cannabis industry.
• Monitor and manage outside counsel spend for regulatory matters.
• Provide legal guidance to Operational Compliance Market Managers.
• Prepare checklists and guides for compliance with new laws.
• Assist in investigating regulatory inquiries and disputes.
• Maintain communication with leadership on compliance issues.
• Assist in compliance audits and regulatory inspections.
• Liaise with local counsel during high activity periods.
• Monitor enforcement actions to inform business compliance risks.
• Work with Government Affairs on strategic priorities.

Requirements

• Licensed attorney with JD Degree from an accredited law school.
• 5+ years of regulatory law experience, preferably in the cannabis industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Highly motivated and self-directed.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Understanding of cannabis laws and regulations.
