Commercial Counsel - EMEA - Remote

Overview

Grafana Labs is seeking an EMEA-qualified and EMEA-based Commercial Counsel to join our dedicated, collaborative, and fast-growing legal team. The primary responsibility of the Commercial Counsel will be to support Grafana Labs’ EMEA-based sales team negotiating B2B commercial agreements with assistance on U.S. transactions, as needed. This role will also support broader legal and cross-functional initiatives and matters as set forth below. The successful candidate will be a creative and analytical thinker who is highly detail oriented and embraces a business-oriented approach, with the ability to think strategically and establish a trusted advisor relationship with internal stakeholders.

In Short

• Manage and negotiate a variety of B2B commercial agreements across the sales and procurement functions.
• Advise on EMEA specific laws related to B2B commercial agreements.
• Take a proactive problem-solving approach to negotiate and finalize agreements.
• Consult with outside counsel on complex deals as needed.
• Collaborate on legal, regulatory, and corporate matters.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve commercial and operational matters.
• Assist in creating and improving form agreements and playbooks.
• Contribute to the development of workflows for the legal function.
• Create and present training materials on legal best practices.

Requirements

• EMEA-qualified lawyer in good standing in at least one EMEA jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney with B2B SaaS experience.
• Significant experience with Data Protection Laws.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
• Ability to form strong relationships with internal clients.
• Experience with a high-volume caseload.
• Sound commercial acumen and risk management skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Experience with open-source licensing is a plus.
• English fluency required, second European language preferred.
