Intermediate Fullstack Engineer (Ruby on Rails & Vue.js) - Remote

Overview

We are seeking an Intermediate Fullstack Engineer to join our growing Plan:Knowledge team. The Plan:Knowledge team is focused on GitLab's suite of tools for knowledge management practices and collaboration.

In Short

• Develop features and improvements to the GitLab product using Vue.js and Ruby on Rails.
• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders.
• Craft code that meets internal standards for style and maintainability.
• Build responsive and accessible components.
• Participate actively in code reviews.
• Support technical documentation and internal knowledge sharing initiatives.
• Work closely with UX designers.
• Help improve test coverage and system reliability.
• Contribute to troubleshooting technical issues.
• Learn and teach other Frontend Engineers.

Requirements

• Professional experience with TypeScript, Vue, Vuex and VueApollo.
• Experience building fullstack web apps using RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails and related backend technologies.
• Experience writing automated tests with Jest and Rspec.
• Solid understanding of semantic HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts.
• Experience using Git in a professional environment.
• Understanding of responsive design principles.
• Comfort working in an agile software development process.
