Senior Data Platform Developer - Remote

Overview

Geotab is seeking a Data Platform Developer to develop and maintain new Machine Learning platforms, supporting the existing big data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.

In Short

• Design, implement, and maintain new data infrastructure platforms.
• Manage data ingestion, digestion, and stream processing.
• Ensure the health of Geotab’s big data infrastructure.
• Perform quality assurance analysis and peer reviews.
• Troubleshoot and identify root causes of bugs.
• Assist with data engineering guidelines and standards.
• Mentor team members toward technical expertise.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotating schedule.

Requirements

• Post-secondary Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years experience in Data Engineering or similar role.
• 2+ years experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• 2+ years experience in scripting languages like Python or Bash.
• Strong understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience deploying applications on Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of security best practices and risk management.
• Familiarity with Big Data environments (e.g. Google BigQuery).
