Overview

FirstPrinciples is a non-profit foundation advancing scientific discovery by developing an AI Physicist. We are looking for a Director of People and Talent to own the full people journey, from talent acquisition to long-term engagement strategies.

In Short

• Own the full people journey from talent acquisition to engagement.
• Develop multi-year headcount plans with the executive team.
• Manage the entire recruitment process from screening to onboarding.
• Implement creative candidate sourcing channels.
• Design onboarding plans that integrate culture and training.
• Manage HR operations including payroll and compliance.
• Design workshops for soft skill development.
• Track performance reviews and manage a development budget.
• Work closely with remote teams.
• Support a mission-driven culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field.
• 5+ years in recruiting or HR roles.
• Familiarity with HRIS and ATS platforms.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience hiring technical talent.
• Comfortable in a startup-style environment.
• Interest in physics or fundamental science is a plus.
• Experience building remote teams is a bonus.
