Staff Accountant - Remote

Overview

Evolv is looking for a Staff Accountant to support our day-to-day financial operations and contribute to the integrity and accuracy of our accounting records. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career—ideally with up to 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably including time at a Big 4 or public company—to join a high-growth organization and build a solid foundation in financial reporting and compliance.

In Short

• Understand the organizational structure and your responsibilities within Evolv.
• Build relationships within the Accounting team and key internal partners.
• Understand Evolv’s accounting policies, processes, systems (NetSuite, Salesforce, Workiva, Blackline), and internal controls.
• Take ownership of month-end close tasks, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Ensure timely execution of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and contribute to remediating any material weaknesses.
• Assist in researching technical accounting matters, such as new accounting standards and business transactions.
• Support the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q/K, Proxy Statement, 8-K, and others.
• Demonstrate a strong grasp of Evolv’s SOX control framework.
• Lead technical accounting research and clearly communicate findings.
• Help accelerate close timelines and improve reporting accuracy.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Up to 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a Big 4 or public company.
• Strong communication skills for teamwork and collaboration.
• Ability to manage core accounts and financial processes.
• Willingness to bring innovative ideas and solutions.
• Experience with financial tools and systems, including NetSuite and Salesforce.
• Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
• Attention to detail and precision in reporting.
