Senior Full Stack Java Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

Equip is looking for a full-stack Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) responsible for building new health care web applications and supporting existing ones in the Cloud.

In Short

• Write clean, scalable software following industry best practices.
• Use leading-edge software development best practices and modern tools and libraries.
• Strong knowledge and experience in designing for and implementing solutions in the cloud (AWS).
• Follow best practices, such as automated testing and thorough PR reviews.
• Develop documentation and proposals to explain existing and proposed architectures.
• Assist in planning, estimating, and scheduling development work.
• Help plan technical execution balancing feature delivery and tech debt reduction.
• Mentor and inspire junior and mid-level engineers.
• Become an expert in your domain area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 4 year degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience with at least one full cycle implementation.
• Experience with Java, JavaScript/React, relational databases, and AWS.
• Ability to write clear, maintainable, extensible and testable code.
• Experience designing and implementing web or mobile applications with a microservice back end.
• Experience in building highly scalable and performant distributed systems.
• Experience communicating and coordinating with engineering and product teams.
• Experience working in and contributing to an Agile environment.
• Understanding of common web protocols such as ReST, OAuth, etc.
• Flexibility to work in Eastern/Central time zones.
