Overview

The Senior Applications Support Specialist is responsible for leading major incidents, managing escalations, and ensuring application reliability through various engineering principles and practices.

In Short

  • Lead major incident bridges and restore service with minimal impact.
  • Handle L3 escalations and perform diagnostics across various technologies.
  • Own technical RCAs and drive long-term remediation.
  • Apply SRE principles to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Provide technical approval for high-risk changes.
  • Build automation using Shell/Python/PowerShell.
  • Mentor L1/L2 teams and act as a technical advisor.
  • Ensure operational readiness for new applications and major releases.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Participate in on-call and after-hours support as needed.

Requirements

  • 7–12+ years in Application Reliability or Production Support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of application architecture and distributed systems.
  • Expertise in Java and .Net performance tuning.
  • Advanced SQL skills and understanding of databases.
  • Experience with observability tools like Splunk and Grafana.
  • Strong technical leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Clear communication during high-pressure incidents.
  • Experience in regulated production environments.
  • ITIL, cloud, or industry certifications preferred.
