Journeyman Maintenance Technician - Remote

Overview

The Licensed Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing critical infrastructure in remote camp facilities, ensuring all mechanical and utility systems operate safely and reliably.

In Short

• Maintain and repair gas, plumbing, electrical systems, and commercial appliances.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Support preventative maintenance programs and emergency repairs.
• Work in a remote camp environment with provided accommodations.
• Travel from Edmonton, Alberta or Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
• Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on camp infrastructure.
• Document all repairs and maintenance activities as per company policies.
• Respond to gas-related emergencies and implement corrective actions.
• Work with culinary leadership to minimize service disruptions.
• Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Valid Journeyperson certification in Gas fitting, Plumbing, or Electrical.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ licensed experience in commercial maintenance.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and hazardous materials handling.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in diverse, multicultural teams.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to obtain necessary safety certifications.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to tolerate Arctic conditions.
