Overview

The First Cook plays a key role in executing the daily dinner service with support from the culinary team, ensuring quality standards are met while working in a camp setting.

In Short

• Responsible for preparing feature proteins for dinner service.
• Coordinates kitchen staff in meal preparation and serving.
• Ensures food quality and safety standards are maintained.
• Handles preparation and timely service of meals and snacks.
• Requires previous cooking experience and Food Safe certification.
• Works on a rotational schedule of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off.
• All meals and accommodations provided at the camp.
• Opportunity to expand skills in a large camp atmosphere.
• Physical demands include lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Wages starting at $22.48 per hour.

Requirements

• Previous cooking experience required.
• Must have a current Food Safe certificate.
• Large scale camp cooking experience is an asset.
• Red Seal or other certifications is an asset.
• Experience in supervising a team preferred.
• High standards in maintaining a clean kitchen.
• Ability to handle physical demands of the job.
