Overview

The German Aid Association e.V. (DEHIB) is establishing itself as a new viable pillar in the structure of Germany's social market economy, driven by the conviction that societal impact cannot be sustainably achieved without structural and economic viability. DEHIB consolidates civil society, social and economic responsibility, connects institutional professionalism with measurable impact, and builds bridges between economy, politics, and the common good.

To structurally further develop the internal organizational capability, we are looking for a Chief People Officer (CPO) to strategically build and professionalize the entire personnel and volunteer management of DEHIB.

Important Note: This position is voluntary and unpaid, and does not establish an employment relationship subject to social security.

In Short

• Development of a comprehensive people strategy for federal structure and prospective units.
• Establishment of a binding recruiting and selection process for volunteers and executives.
• Implementation of a professional onboarding system with clear role profiles, expectations, and goal definitions.
• Structuring of the support phase through regular evaluation discussions, performance feedback, and competency development.
• Implementation of a clean, appreciative offboarding process with documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Establishment of a transparent responsibility model for departmental and divisional leaders.
• Development of a leadership framework for volunteer leadership (as well as a code of conduct).
• Ensuring clear communication pathways and escalation mechanisms.

Requirements

• Completed studies in business administration, economic psychology, human resources, organizational development, or comparable fields.
• Several years of experience in strategic HR management or in building complex organizational structures.
• Competence in process design, scaling, and structural development.
• Leadership experience and assertiveness.
• High implementation strength while maintaining strategic foresight.
• Ability to professionally manage volunteer dynamics.
