Overview

We are looking for a Staff Full-Stack Engineer (Backend-Focused) to drive the evolution of our hybrid workplace experience platform. As a senior technical leader, you will be instrumental in shaping the architecture, setting technical direction, and ensuring the delivery of high-impact features for the core product of deskbird. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead by example in code and design, and mentor engineers across the stack. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, technical excellence, and delivering business impact.

In Short

• Act as a technical leader in a cross-functional squad responsible for our core product, including floor plans, desk booking, and week planning.
• Design and develop APIs, services, and automations that power our platform used by 150,000+ users.
• Drive architectural decisions, establish technical standards, and promote engineering best practices.
• Lead or support critical initiatives such as event-driven architecture and performance optimisation.
• Remain hands-on, contributing significantly to various codebases.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in backend-heavy engineering roles.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
• Proven track record leading technical direction in complex distributed systems.
• Strong experience with SQL and data stores.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (Angular, React, etc.).
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills; fluent in English.
