Overview

The Oregon Health Authority is seeking a Medical Director for Acute and Communicable Disease Prevention and Immunizations to lead public health initiatives across Oregon.

In Short

• Provide clinical guidance for communicable disease prevention and control.
• Oversee outbreak investigations and direct the Emerging Infections Program.
• Formulate policies and design programs based on epidemiological data.
• Collaborate with epidemiologists and healthcare providers.
• Engage with local and federal public health officials and policymakers.
• Maintain compliance with communicable disease control mandates.
• Serve as a public spokesperson for public health initiatives.
• Conduct in-state and out-of-state travel for meetings and presentations.
• Work remotely with occasional on-site requirements.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for Oregon medical license (MD).
• Experience in clinical leadership with communicable diseases.
• Principal investigator experience for federal grants preferred.
• Experience with public health data-collection systems and epidemiologic analyses.
• Strong community relationship-building skills.
• Experience with urgent response in public health settings.
• Familiarity with government statutes and public health rules.
• Ability to deliver culturally responsive messaging.
• Commitment to racial equity in health outcomes.
• Willingness to travel for work-related duties.
