Tax Operations Specialist - Remote

Overview

As a Tax Operations Specialist at Deel, you will be responsible for managing statutory remittances and ensuring compliance with Canadian tax regulations, contributing to the company's mission of transforming global payroll operations.

In Short

• Oversee and manage the filing process for statutory remittances for over 250 Canadian payroll entities.
• Manage remittance statutory payments totaling over $500 million annually.
• Oversee T4’s and RL-1’s, managing potential amendments.
• Act as a payroll tax representative for Canadian authorities.
• Resolve notices received by global payroll clients in a timely manner.
• Avoid payroll penalties for clients and ensure compliance.
• Support audits issued by Canadian tax authorities.
• Work directly with clients to address authority-related questions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of tax resolution experience.
• 2+ years of payroll processing experience in a service bureau.
• Comfortable working with large datasets.
• Proven experience in payroll tax compliance.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations.
• Proficient in G Suite, especially Google Sheets.
• FPC or similar certification is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
