AI Staff Engineer – Voice AI & Agentic Systems - Remote

In Short

• Act as Staff-level technical owner for Voice AI and Agentic Agent architecture.
• Define reference architectures, best practices, and design patterns for Voice LLM workflows.
• Lead technical decision-making for build vs. buy and platform selection.
• Design and implement end-to-end Voice AI systems using LLMs and NLP technologies.
• Build multi-step conversational workflows capable of tool use and human handoff.
• Architect and build API-first, event-driven systems integrating CCaaS platforms.
• Partner with Security and Legal to ensure compliance across all workflows.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers in AI and distributed systems design.
• Influence roadmap and prioritization through strong technical partnership.
• Shape Datavant’s agentic AI strategy and technical foundation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, focused on AI or platform engineering.
• Deep hands-on experience with Voice AI systems, including LLMs and NLMs.
• Strong experience designing agentic AI systems.
• Proven expertise in API architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with CCaaS / Voice platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Python or another modern backend language.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
